The Office of the Second Vice President of South Sudan plays a coordinating role within the executive branch of Government. The Office supports national policy alignment across key economic and financial institutions and contributes to strategic oversight of economic reform priorities.

The Second Vice President chairs the Economic Cluster, a high-level inter-ministerial platform responsible for coordination of fiscal, monetary, trade, investment, petroleum, and planning policy. The cluster brings together relevant ministries and economic institutions to review policy proposals, address macroeconomic challenges, and ensure coherence in national economic management.

Through the Economic Cluster, the Office facilitates dialogue between the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Petroleum, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the central bank, and other relevant bodies. It provides a structured forum for reviewing budget frameworks, revenue performance, public expenditure priorities, and regulatory measures affecting the business environment.

For international partners and private sector stakeholders, engagement with the Office and the Economic Cluster offers insight into the direction of national economic policy and reform coordination within South Sudan.
