The Ministry of Trade and Industry of South Sudan is responsible for the development and oversight of national trade and industrial policy. It provides the regulatory framework that governs domestic commerce, external trade, and the growth of the private sector.

The Ministry formulates policies that support market stability, industrial expansion, and cross-border trade. It works to strengthen the business environment through licensing systems, standards oversight, and coordination with relevant public institutions. Its mandate also includes promoting local manufacturing, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and facilitating participation in regional and international trade arrangements.

In collaboration with other government bodies, the Ministry contributes to efforts aimed at economic diversification and improved market access. It engages with private sector stakeholders, chambers of commerce, and international partners to align policy objectives with practical commercial realities.

For investors and businesses, the Ministry serves as a central point of reference on trade regulations, import and export procedures, and industrial development policy within the country.
