The Ministry of Transport is responsible for the development, regulation and oversight of the national transport system. It plays a central role in improving connectivity across the country and facilitating the movement of people and goods.

The Ministry oversees policy and planning across road, air, river and, where applicable, rail transport. It works to strengthen infrastructure standards, safety frameworks and regulatory compliance. This includes coordination with relevant authorities, agencies and state institutions to support coherent transport development.

Transport infrastructure remains fundamental to trade, regional integration and economic growth. By improving access corridors and internal connectivity, the Ministry contributes to market access, supply chain efficiency and investment readiness.

The Ministry also engages with development partners, private sector operators and international institutions in areas such as infrastructure rehabilitation, aviation management, logistics, and capacity building. Its mandate supports long-term planning and institutional strengthening within the transport sector.

For international businesses and investors, the transport sector presents areas for technical collaboration, infrastructure delivery and operational services within an evolving regulatory framework.
